Spoiler alert: Team USA is going to win a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics! Er, okay. So, that isn’t exactly a “spoiler.” The U.S. men’s Olympic basketball team has been favored to win the gold medal at the Olympics this year ever since they won the gold at the last Olympics in 2008. But, no matter. It’s still been fun to watch them in the Olympics as they’ve dominated their competition so far and put on a great show during every game that they’ve played.
However, what hasn’t been fun about these Olympics is thinking about who’s not on the team this summer because of injury. Dwyane Wade is at home with a bum knee. Chris Bosh is giving some much-needed rest to his abdominal muscles. And, Derrick Rose is rehabbing his knee after tearing his ACL during the 2012 NBA Playoffs. It sucks that we didn’t get the chance to see those guys in action. Specifically, we’re upset because if Rose had played this summer, he’d be wearing a pair of these—the adidas adiZero 773 “Gold Medal” sneakers—on the court. As you can see, they don’t just spoil the fact that D-Rose was planning on bringing home gold this summer. They proclaim it.
Complete with a synthetic leather upper that features adidas SPRINTWEB and SPRINTFRAME support, a fantastic collegiate blue and red colorway, and gold accents that really drive home the mission of Team USA, these look like a great pair of sneakers. And, while Rose won’t get to wear them this summer, they have been made available to all of us. That’s right. Although D-Rose likely hasn’t slipped his feet into these, adidas is selling the adidas Rose 773 “Gold Medal” sneakers right now for $125. So, if you like to shine in your sneakers, go pick up a pair now before it’s too late.
