Karmin, whose astronomical success on YouTube lead the pop duo to a record deal in 2011 and a guest performance spot on Saturday Night Live this year, will now grace the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
The issue hits newsstands Friday with Amy Heidemann — the female half of Karmin — front and center. Karmin earned the cover slot by winning Rolling Stone‘s crowdsourced “Women Who Rock” competition.
“Are you serious? Oh my god. … The fans are going to be so excited,” Heidemann said, holding back tears when Karmin discovered it had beated out British singer-songwriter Rita Ora to be on the cover.
